The new 10-acre campus includes a police headquarters building, a 911/dispatch center, and a new fire station that includes fire department administration. It serves as both a civic administrative facility that’s open to the public and a fire station. The 31,000-SF fire station is located on the north end of the property, and the 77,000-SF police facility is centrally located with a skybridge connecting it to the existing detention center.
The new facilities provide additional space for existing and future staff, as well as numerous security and operational enhancements. Both the fire station and police headquarters are designed to be ICC 500 code-compliant storm shelters. The fire station facility was a recipient of a Career 1 Gold Award in Firehouse’s 2020 Station Design Awards.
